It's been a great day pack, able to carry some extra clothes and a packed lunch while keeping me hydrated.

The side pockets are the perfect size for a bike water bottle (for my dog when he goes along). The stuff pouch can hold a rain jacket or pants for when the weather turns. The smaller lined pocket at the top is good for keys and phone to keep them accessible and protected.

The main pocket is cavernous, even with a full water bladder, and I'm pretty sure I could use this as an overnight backpack if I was hammocking. The zippered hip belt pocket is good for map/compass and maybe an energy bar if you need one.

One feature that would be nice, that's on another brand pack of mine, is a small mesh pocket on the other side of the hip belt that I find useful for napkins/tissues/food wrappers so you can secure your small trash without having to take the pack off.but definitely not a deal breaker.Bottom line - if you want a serious hydration daypack, this is the one to get. It fits great and is very comfortable. I'm 5'8' and 235lbs. I love the integrated ventilation, it would've been awesome to have that back in Iraq during those long foot patrols. After about 3 years with it I wish it would've come in different colors and had 1 more feature: molle webbing along the bottom of the front storage area. The only drawback that I see with this pack is that the bladder takes up some of the main compartment space when filled. The water does stay cool/cold for a long period during the hot days (thank you). Rated 5 out of5 byDustinB fromComfortable I used my new Forteener 24 for the forst time yesterday at disneyland. The oack was great, it was loaded with the hydration bladder, additional water containers, snacks, sweatshirts etc.

The pack carried well and was very comfortable. I removed and replaced the pack alot throughout the day, the straps stayed in place making it fast and easy to put back on. The straps also held while walking around. The only negative I discovered was that the chest strap buckle was upside down, which made it uncomfortable unless I twisted the strap before buckling.
